Members of the Pools-Sub Committee are invited to attend a Meeting to be held on Wednesday the 19th of November 2025 at 7pm in the Council Chamber
Exclusion of the press and public: The Chairman to inform any members of the Public or Press that in view of confidential business to be transacted in any item on the agenda that they are excluded in accordance with the Public Bodies (admission to meetings) Act 1960 Section 1 (2).
Public and Press Participation Maximum of 15 minutes- Any Elector of the Parish of Essington may raise a question by prior request in writing to the clerk within the period of publication of the agenda and the meeting itself, on any issue relating to Official Parish Council Business.

Pools Committee held on Wednesday the 19th of November 2025 at 7pm in the Council Chamber

Present: Councillors – James Parker – Chairman, Chris Steel – Vice Chairman & Warren Fisher
Also Present: Bob Firmstone, Graham Young & Joe Yates, Admin Assistant
1. Apologies – Roger Taylor
2. Declarations of Interest – None
3. Minutes of last meeting 3rd September 2025 - Proposed by Chris, seconded by Bob, all in favour that the minutes were a true and accurate record.
4. Matters Arising - Photos have been sent to the suppliers regarding the Habitat Posts – suppliers have responded that it’s the natural process of the timber. Water levels are at a high level.
5. Permits Sales and Permit Issues - There are 278 active members, 123 concessions, 102 adults, 53 junior permits, an increase of 10 for junior permits, 14 for adults & 9 for concessions.
6. Bailiff report and ID Cards – ID cards to stay on agenda, issue ID cards once new bailiff has been appointed. Fishermen not fishing from designated posts and should be fishing from numbered pegs according to the rules. Pegs should be named and numbered.
7. Oxygen Levels - Oxygen levels have been stable all year.
8. Fish stocking/new fish - Graham to contact suppliers and obtain 3 quotes. Quotes to be discussed at the management meeting.
9. New Bailiff - Apologies were received from Lee. Lee to be invited to the next meeting on the 11th of December
10. Vandalism – New library to be made and installed securely to a new post, James to supply the wood & Graham to make the new cabinet.
No vandalism to report.
11. Tidy up - F.O.E. to tidy up paths and cut back overgrowth
12. Signage – Dog Fouling & No Fishing - No dog fouling signs have been received and to be replaced at the pools. There are no fishing signs at the pools now, County Council issuing No Fishing signs and a life jacket is going to be supplied. New no fishing signs to be put at the pegs.
13. LNR update – James to arrange a meeting with Zoe Capewell. Plan for 4 composite benches and send them to SSC for approval.
Replacement of new trees to replace the ones that have now died which were planted in the summer.
Drone to be up and running, perhaps try at a different area.
Volunteers can claim £7 a day for litter picking etc. but must be on a set day weekly with set tasks. Tasks need to be monitored as & when they are completed, monthly check in with James.
New stumps to be replaced at fairy walk.
