Full Council Meeting held on Monday 11th April 2022 @ 7pm in the Council Chamber at Essington Community Centre. Members of the Public are welcome to attend.
Present
Councillor’s Chris Steel, Winston Haddon, Gill Kelly, Steve Porter, Adrian Nicklin, Susan Sheldon & James Parker.
County Councillor- Kath Perry
County Highway’s- Mark Keeling

Public Participation 15 minutes- the chairman asked for a 15-minute extension to Public Participation due to the presence of Kath Perry and Mark Keeling to give residents the opportunity to raise their concerns regarding Highways issues. All in Favour

7.4 Ratify spend for Ground and Framework Swan Park- Resolved that the quotation received from EHG was considered best value for money £4300.00. Proposed by Gill, Seconded by Adrian- All in Favour
7.5 Ratify Hall Charges £18.00 per hour/ £150.00 Full day 20% increase- Proposed by Adrian, Seconded by Gill- All in favour
7.6 Ratify Chamber Hire £12.00 per hour 20% increase-Proposed by Gill, Seconded by Susan- All in favour
7.7 Ratify Quote for office re- decoration- Resolved that Council accept the quotation of £200.00 from EHG. Proposed by Chris, Seconded by Winston- All in favour
7.8 Ratify additional costs for Hall Tables & Chairs Renewal. Council agreed an additional £1000.00 for the purchase of necessary tables and Chairs for the Community Centre… Total spend £5000.00 pre–Vat Figure Proposed by Adrian, Seconded by Gill, All in Favour.
7.9 Community Charity Fund 10k – Council to arrange a meeting to discuss ideas of how to utilise the fund to benefit toddlers- pre-school in the Community.
8 S106 Agreement- Following the persistence of our District Councillor’s remaining funds from the Bellway & Bovis development should be paid soon.
9. Jubilee Celebration- Council discussed the Jubilee celebration and the possibility of Community events- Resolved that should a community group have a planned event they should apply to the Parish Council with their plans for a donation of £150.00 to be considered, donations will only be paid to registered Community groups with a valid Bank Account.
10. Highways- As discussed in Public Participation- Broad Lane works due to lack of funding will be patch work only during 2022 however, full re-surfacing of the crematorium junction Spring hill will take place. Full re-surfacing of Broad Lane has been put back to 2023.County Council to contact Police to raise the possibility of supplying number plate recognition sensors following major concerns of speeding HGV’S.
Golf Course Due to concerns of the volume of traffic through the village, Council should check the route which was applied for, for dumper trucks to access the site.
11. Millennium Stone- update- The Hedge roots have now been removed; a planting Scheme has been suggested.
12. Pools Lease- Stay on Agenda
13. Pools Grant Application- £2400 has been applied for through the environment agency
14. Dog Waste Signs- Additional Dog Wate signs have been received.
15. Climate Change- Stay on Agenda
16. Essington Show 2022 – Next meeting 20/04/2022.

18. Spring 6 Race- No Update from Essington Harriers
19. Golf Course – update- County Council extended the time scale through an application from the Land Owner, the Parish Council will pursue issues of agreed time management of access and weekend working and the possibility of unsuitable materials being disposed of.
