Essington Parish Council- Annual Parish Meeting in accordance with the Local Government Act 1972, Schedule 12, Part III is to be held on the 11th of May 2026 at 7pm in the Council Chamber, Essington Community Centre, Hobnock Road, Essington, WV11 2RF
Press and Public are welcome to attend.
The Annual Parish Meeting is a meeting of Parish Electors. It provides an opportunity for residents to hear what the Council has been doing over the last year, to ask questions, and to raise matters of local interest.

Present: Chris Steel, Chairman of the Parish Council, Warren Fisher in his Capacity as District Councillor & Louise Tipler, Clerk.
Also, Present; Councillors, Hilary Southern, James Parker, Gill Kelly, Joy Markievicz and Joe Yates, Council Admin Assistant.

1. Chairman’s Welcome and Introductions-The Chairman welcomed 3 attendees to the meeting
2. Apologies for Absence- None
3. To receive the Minutes of the Previous Annual Parish Meeting- Noted
4. Chairman’s Address and Annual Report- The Chairman addressed the Councils achievements over the past year and highlighted plans, for this year 2026-27.
5. Financial Report- Noted
6. Update from District Councillors- Housing allocation for South Staffs was mentioned
and noted by those in attendance, and the upcoming plans for a new Unitary Council for 2027 which will see the demise of County and District Council and a merge into a unitary Council.
7. Matters raised by Parishioners in writing- None
8. Open Floor Questions. (Limited to 5 minutes each)- Golf Course ongoing works was mentioned.
9. Meeting Closure- 8pm.
