 All members of the Community of Essington are welcome to attend to raise questions with the Chairman whilst bringing the Community together.

Annual Parish Meeting 13th June 2022 6 -7pm prompt.

 

Present: Chairman- Chris Steel

  1. Apologies- None
  2. Chairman’s Address- The Chairman Chris Steel welcomed all to the Annual Parish Meeting giving a brief insight into the progress made over the previous year/years and plans for the coming year 2022/23.

 

  1. Public Participation: 23 Members of the Public were in attendance

 

6.15pm The Chairman invited questions from the Public as follows:

. The Essington Show Committee thanked the Parish Council for the donation the Essington Show.

. Friends of Essington thanked the Parish Council for their recent grant to carry out planting work in the Community.

. High Hill resident raised the issue of flooding outside the WMC, they were advised that whilst the problem lower down in the dip seemed a lot better the issue in question is still being investigated. County Council are talking with Severn Trent and the advice to residents is to keep reporting any flooding should it arise.

. Changes to the 71 Bus was mentioned however, the change is not thought to massively affect passengers at this time. Parishioners were advised that all bus enquiries should be directed to the bus company Chase Rider and timetables can be downloaded from Staffordshire County Council’s website.

. Broad Lane, residents concern for the continual use of Broad Lane as a short cut for HGV’s intensifies, many residents are reporting structural damage to their properties with large vehicles travelling at speed over the traffic calming humps and potholes. A meeting for Broad Lane residents has been arranged for 5TH July 2022 @ 7pm @ Broad Lane WMC.
