Annual Meeting of the Parish Council followed by the Full Council Meeting to be held on the 15th of May 2023 @ 7 pm at Essington Community Centre, Council Chamber. Public and Press are welcome to attend.

Acceptance of Office by all Councillors and agreement to abide by the Code of Conduct of Essington Parish Council

Completion of Declarations of Interest forms.

Annual Meeting of the Parish Council held on the 15th of May 2023

 

Acceptance of Office by all Councillors and agreement to abide by the Code of Conduct of Essington Parish Council

Completion of Declarations of Interest forms.

 

Present: Councillors, Chris Steel, Hilary Southern, Gill Kelly, Adrian Nicklin, Steve Porter, Warren Fisher, James Parker, and Susan Sheldon.

Apologies– Thelma Mattison and Ken Moseley.

 

Also Present: Louise Tipler, Clerk & Kate Roberts RFO.

 

Minutes

  1. Election of the Chairman- Resolved that Chris Steel will be Chairman for the forthcoming year May 23-May 24.

 

  1. Acceptance of office of the Chairman– Chris made his declaration of acceptance of office signing the said declaration.

 

  1. Election of the Vice- Chairman – Resolved that Hilary Southern will be Vice Chair for the forthcoming year May 23- May 24

 

  1. Acceptance of office of the Vice- Chairman- Hilary made her declaration of acceptance of office signing the said declaration.

 

  1. Membership of Essington Parish Council Management Committee. – All Members

 

  1. Appoint Members of the Personnel Committee – Chris, Hilary, Gill, and Warren.

 

  1. Appoint Members of the Finance Committee– Chris, Hilary, Adrian, Warren, and Ken.

 

  1. Appoint PC Members to the Pools Committee – Chris, Hilary, James, Adrian, and Warren.

  1. Appointment of Footpath and Tree Wardens. – Councillors discussed combining with the Maintenance Committee it was mentioned that Council should firstly refer to terms of reference, deferred to a later Agenda. Adrian and James put themselves forward as the main contacts.

 

 

  1. Appointment to outside Bodies

 

  1. Housing Association Representative- Adrian, Warren, and James.

 

  1. Wyrley Juniors Football Club Committee- Gill and Thelma

 

  1. Police Locality Committee- All Councillors

 

  1. Walsall Football Club Committee- Steve and Susan.

 

  1. Set the meeting Schedule for the year ahead. It was resolved that the Finance Committee will meet every first Monday of the Month excluding Bank Holidays. Full Council every second Monday of the Month excluding Bank Holidays. The meeting dates will be listed on the website.
