Minutes

Full Parish Council Meeting held on Monday the 10th of July 2023 at 7pm in the Council Chamber at Essington Community Centre, Hobnock Road, WV112RF.

 

Public and Press– 3 x members of the public were present.

 

Present: Councillors, Chris Steel, Adrian Nicklin, Gill Kelly, Warren Fisher, James Parker,  Steve Porter & Ken Moseley.

Also Present: Clerk, Louise Tipler.

  1. Apologies– Hilary Southern & Susan Sheldon.

 

  1. Declarations of Interest- None

 

  1. Minutes of the meeting held on the 12th of June 2023- Proposed by Ken, seconded by Adrian, all in favour that the minutes were a true record.

 

  1. Matters arising from previous minutes- None 
  2. District Councillors Report- South Staffordshire Council has received a funding allocation of £489,384 specifically for rural areas. This is an additional funding allocation to the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. The funding offers capital funding towards community projects & small business growth. Details can be found on South Staffordshire Council website. www.sstaffs.gov.uk Rural England Prosperity Fund.
  3. Financial Matters

6.1 Schedule of Payments- July 2023- Proposed by Warren, Seconded by Ken, all in favour.

 

6.2 Income and Expenditure Report- June 2023-Proposed by Chris, seconded by Ade, all in favour.

 

6.3 Bank Reconciliation- June 2023- –Proposed by Ade, seconded by Ken, all in favour.

 

6.4 Ratify Roof Costs- based on 3x quotes have been received and discussed at the Finance Committee- it was resolved that Council engage with the best value for money quotation from a local company, based in Essington. Proposed by Adrian, seconded by Ken, all in favour.

6.5 Ratify Tree maintenance cost High Hill- It was established that the trees were not subject to a TPO Council are awaiting a second Quote.

  1. Admin Assistant (set date for personnel meeting)- a meeting has been set for the 4th of September 2023.
  2. Co-option (set date for interviews)- The Clerk to invite candidates for Co-option to the Full Council Meeting on the 25th of September 2023.
  3. Set Meeting Dates – Councillors discussed a new Calendar of Dates for set meetings with a slight change to the order. It was resolved that Full Council meetings will now take place on the Fourth Monday in the Month. Proposed by Warren, Seconded by Gill, all in favour. A copy can be found on the Councils website.
  4. Date of the next Full Council Meeting- the 25th of September 2023.
  5. Closure- 8.02pm.
