Essington Parish Council
Pools Sub-Committee held on Monday the 19th of June 2023 in the Council Chamber at 7pm.
Public Participation
Present: The Pools Bailiff, Community volunteers, Councillors- Chris Steel, Warren Fisher, James Parker, and Adrian Nicklin.
Also, Present; Louise Tipler Clerk.

- Declarations of Interest- None
- Minutes of the last meeting- Proposed by Chris, Seconded by Bob that the minutes were a true record.
- Matters Arising- Members mentioned that several of the Pool’s walkways, paths and hedges still need attention it was Proposed by Warren, seconded by Chris to approach the PC Groundsman for a quote with an amendment to the current contract.
- Club Mate- Members have asked for a clearer break down of the Pools Budget to allow more transparency.
- New Fish Stock-. Members discussed the pools fish stock suggesting a survey might be necessary in the future, the quotes received for restocking were considered and it was resolved to purchase 100 3lb Carp to be recommend to full Council for ratification Proposed by Warren, seconded by Chris, all in favour.
- Map of the Pools- deferred to a later meeting.
- Bailiffs Report- The Bailiff mentioned a few incidents of poaching and youths on scramblers causing a nuisance, the Police have been notified of all instances.
- Pools Get Together- It was suggested that rather than having individual group events to consider having a Celebration in the Community each year to include all groups and volunteers which has proven to be successful in previous years.
- Benches- all the vandalised benches are now repaired and back in place.
- Litter Bin- County Council have been contacted to replace the bin.
- Closure– 8.25pm
