Essington Parish Council – Hall Hire Terms
Venue Options and Rates
• Community Centre Hall: £18 per hour (minimum 3 hours) or £150 for a full day (13:00- 23:00). Capacity: 80 seated, maximum 90.
• Council Chamber: £12 per hour (daytime only).
A small kitchen is available for preparing refreshments; heating facilities are not provided. There is no licensed bar—hirers must make their own beverage and catering arrangements.
A £100 holding deposit is required at booking and will be refunded within 7 days after the event.

Conditions of Hire
1. The hirer is responsible for supervising the premises, safeguarding property and contents, and ensuring proper conduct of guests, including car parking. DJs must connect equipment to designated sockets and avoid smoke machines due to fire alarms. The building is strictly non-smoking. Decorations must not be attached to walls or ceilings.
2. Sub-letting or unlawful use is prohibited. Indoor bouncy castles are allowed (max height 8 ft). Hirers must ensure suppliers have appropriate insurance.
3. The hirer is liable for any damage to the property or contents during the hire period.
4. Cancellations: Refunds are at the Council’s discretion if the booking cannot be replaced.
5. Premises must be left clean, tidy, and secured. Failure to comply may result in a £100 surcharge.
6. Noise must be controlled to avoid disturbing neighbours. Fire exits must close by 10:00 p.m. Music ends at 11:00 p.m.; premises vacated by 11:30 p.m.
7. The Council may cancel bookings with at least seven days’ notice. Notice cannot be given in the event of emergencies. In such cases, deposits will be refunded.
8. The Council is not liable if the hall becomes unfit for use.
9. Council members and staff will not tolerate any type of abuse from hirers.
10. Vehicle registration must be entered in the portals provided. Note: If you leave the site, re-entry is restricted for 30 minutes.
